カナダでの第1週目：学びと発見の旅

　8月6日に行われたキャンパスツアーでは、大学の広大さ、充実した設備、そして美しい景観に感銘を受けました。特に、大学のテラスからの眺望は絶景で、限られた時間の中で大学の多様な施設を最大限に活用したいと強く感じました。翌7日には、ファーマーズマーケットとダウンタウンを訪れました。ダウンタウンは歴史が豊かで、さまざまな国のレストランや店舗が並んでおり、多文化共生の国であるカナダの特徴を改めて実感しました。
　8月8日には、大学周辺の自然環境を観察しました。丘の上から下にかけて植物が変化する様子は非常に興味深く、また、野生の鹿やビーバーの巣といった日本では見ることができない自然の光景にも出会いました。こうした自然の美しさに触れ、環境に配慮した行動の重要性を再認識しました。また、SDGsと旅行?観光の関係について学び、今後の旅行では訪問先の水問題や社会階層について事前に調査することが重要であると感じました。9日にはロッククライミングを体験し、大学内の充実したスポーツ施設に驚かされました。その後、他大学やレスブリッジ大学の学生たちと交流パーティーを行い、これほどの多様な背景を持つ人々が共に楽しい時間を過ごせることに感動しました。

　On August 6th, we participated in a campus tour that left us deeply impressed by the university’s vast size, comprehensive facilities, and stunning scenery. The view from the university terrace was particularly breathtaking, and it made us eager to fully utilize the diverse facilities available, even within our limited time. The following day, August 7th, we visited the Farmer's Market and downtown. Downtown is rich in history and lined with restaurants and shops representing various countries, which highlighted Canada’s multicultural nature.
　On August 8th, we explored the natural surroundings of the university. It was fascinating to observe the changes in vegetation as we moved from the top of the hill to the bottom, and we also encountered wildlife such as deer and beaver dams—sights rarely seen in Japan. Experiencing the beauty of nature reinforced the importance of adopting environmentally conscious practices. Additionally, we learned about the relationship between the SDGs and travel, realizing the importance of researching local water issues and social structures before future trips. On August 9th, we tried rock climbing and were amazed by the extensive sports facilities available on campus. Later, we participated in a social gathering with students from other universities and the University of Lethbridge, and we were deeply moved by the sight of people from diverse backgrounds coming together to enjoy a shared experience.
